The Old Mormon Church
The old Mormon church… yeah there’s not much to say here. Lets focus on interior of the church, where an event that will shake the very roots of the city will soon happen.
At the very back of the church, near the old organ, two Lepers guards strike up a conversation.
“Yo Johnson, I don’t like this, it feels like I’m being watched in here.” Says the Gangster on the left holding his assault rifle.
“Oh stop being a baby Matt, the cops don’t dare come after us with all these hostages” The guard on the right holding his shotgun, who was previously identified as Johnson, says while pointing to the 5 hostages, bounded, gagged, and tied up with rope. “Besides…” He looks around to see if anyone is listening in “If the boss caught you choking up he’d, ‘shiver’ lets just say there's a reason why there is always a seat available next to the Big man at the meetings.”
Matt shivers as well, fully remembering what happened when their boss felt that ‘the men need more motivation’ after a botched attack on the Irish’s smuggling warehouse. That motivation came in the form of the nearby Leper third seat being gutted to death by the boss. “Look men, an open position”. Afterwards there were no more failures.
“Yeah I know that. It’s just that, well… there has been talk about some of our boys being found beaten bloody muttering about so sort of demon. Rumor has it that whenever he appears all the lights go out, a weird mist cloud suddenly appears. Then when the mist leaves all that's left is a bunch broken bones and bloody faces.”

Johnson looks to his comrade with a look that all but screams ‘How high are you?’ He then sighs and starts rubbing his temples “ ‘sigh’, I’m not going to clarify how stupid that is.” He then looks his partner dead in the eye and all but screams “There are no vampires in the shadows, there are no werewolves howling at the moon, and there are no ghosts and wraiths hidden in the mist! Now grow a spine you maggot farm before you don’t have to worry about any more boogiemen ever again!” Satisfied that he got his point across thanks to the terrified look that his fellow criminal was giving him, Johnson decided to cast an arrogant smirk and asked his partner “Aw what's wrong? I’m not scary, am I?”

However he notices that Matt isn't looking at him anymore, in fact he is looking behind him. He looks behind expecting to see the church filled with his fellow Lepers, only to see a wall of thick mist. Suddenly a fist comes out of the mist and hits him square in the nose. He didn't have time to register the pain before he hit the ground clutching his shattered nose. In the corner of his vision he sees his attacker rush Matt, grabbing the barrel of his rifle with both of his his hands, pulling it out of the startled guard’s sweating hands, and swinging it so hard at the young criminal’s head that the rifle shatters on contact. Then before he can even process the scene he just saw he sees the same fist about from before about to slam into his head. The last thought Johnson has before the fist makes contact with already damaged skull is “What the he-’CRACK’” and then all he felt was the cool grasp of unconsciousness.

All the while during this brief, and yet brutal, exchange the five hostages were given a front row view of their former kidnappers being demolished by a man with wearing a a black face mask you would usually find in a costume store during October that for some reason gave the hostages a mixture of awe and fear, as if they were staring at something that wa more than a man. As the, what they had assumed to be man, rose to his to his full height all the hostages finally got a good look at their savior. He was fairly tall, with dark, harsh, brown eyes and wore a black and brown leather jacket over what looked to be a black kevlar vest. He wore some regular looking jeans held up with an odd looking belt with some brown sneakers. All and all he looked like some form of Vigilante. “Huh, that wasn’t has hard as I thought it would be.” He said in a low deep tone. He then stared at the confused hostages and said, “Don't worry, I'm here to help, please just stay here and wait for the police to arrive.” He then walks back into the mist, completely disappearing from sight. Soon they hear the main doors open and the mist recedes into the city streets, revealing 7 Lepers on the ground, beaten and bloody, but with no sign of their mysterious savior.
The second chapter in the "Vigilante: In the Dark of the Night" arc. Tell me if It was any good.
